What are the technology tips when using VitroGel® for angiogenesis assay?

< 1 min read

Unlike animal-based ECM, which contains many growth factors, our hydrogel is xeno-free. Therefore, to support endothelial cells like HUVECs, some supplements, such as FBS (or any serum replacement) and key growth factors, must be mixed with the hydrogel.
VEGF needs to be added to the culture medium and the hydrogel supplement to induce the tube formation of endothelial cells.
Depending on the cells’ status, the supplement and concentration of VEGF may need to be adjusted accordingly.
Seeding healthy cells is critical for tube formation. For the tubulogenesis assay, make sure to use primary cells less than passage 6.
